Oliver’s career in financial services began at Equitable Life in late 1999, with him completing the Financial Planning Certificate in early 2002.
That same year, he moved into the independent sector to work as a paraplanner to a group of successful financial planners. Gaining invaluable experience, he fully developed the technical and practical financial planning skills that he would later use to advise clients himself.
Oliver achieved Chartered Financial Planner status in 2018.
How he works
Oliver began advising clients in 2008 and has worked closely with a wide variety of individuals ever since. Mindful that every client’s needs differ, he always takes the time to clearly establish their goals, ensuring that they fully understand both the risks and opportunities available, before creating a financial plan built around them.
He believes that the best financial plans make use of resources every client has available. ‘Good financial planning’, he says, ‘does the basics well, making use of all available tax breaks, having strategies to clear debt and setting defined goals against which progress can be measured. This way, my clients can enjoy life to the full.’
Who he works for
Typically, Oliver works with people starting their careers, particularly the self-employed, those beginning families, financial professionals, small and medium sized company directors, people approaching retirement and those already in retirement with estate planning in mind. The majority of these clients are in London and throughout the South East.
One last thing
Originally from Godalming in Surrey, Oliver now lives in Ashburnham near Battle with his wife and two sons.
